brown- but black makes them really nice and visable. also covergirl has a knew mascara that brings out ur eyes, and it has a color for every eye color- you check it out of u have hazel/green eyes :]
I have seen people thatuse a gold or bronze color, more of a bronze or darker gold acually and it looks really pretty!

I use a pencil olive color, it looks really good, I have hazel eyes.

i would go with black eyeliner
dark purples, golds and browns
