go for dark plum. it sounds odd but the right one's amazing. MAC fluidline has a great one called macroviolet.

i wear a bronze color with my brown eyes and also purple colors in eyeshadow and liners look good bring out your eyes.
You can use a very dark espresso brown. Bobbi Brown makes one in their gel eyeliner called espresso; it is very dark, but not harsh. Also a black plum or cobalt would look nice on you as well. So would a dark hunter green.

Try a little blue eyeliner on your waterline and you will be dazzled! I promise.
you could use black powder and take a brush and apply your eyeliner with it. I know black can be too intense but powder softens the black
golds browns, light browns, purples or teals!! hope this helps
i use brown (i have brown eyes) sometimes i wear dark blue eyeliner
brown would look good. just smudge slightly and don't wear too much of it. it also helps to put it almost on your eyelash roots so it has something to grip on to and so it doesn't look out of place and to try only putting it halfway across your eye

If you are fair-skinned, then black will definitely look harsh, but if that's the look you are going for then...whatever makes ya feel good. Seriously, brown is good... or plum.
I would try a dark purple liner with a lighter purple or a brown shadow. I have brown eyes and use black, though
